Training for Impact
The BDC adopts a different approach to training. There is "training for activity" and "training for impact". We have adopted the latter approach.
Our training interventions are needs driven, result-oriented and goes beyond identifying obvious needs and symptoms to addressing root causes.
All interventions feature:
- Detailed need assessments and cause analysis
- Agreement on performance measures to be used to assess performance levels pre- and post-intervention
- Agreement on systems for tracking the performance of training participants
- Evaluating the effectiveness of the training and provision of feedback to the client
Some of the challenges facing our businesses, which are addressed by our training interventions include:
- Developing a team of Marketing Representatives able to go beyond sales to understanding the client’s business, developing customer focused strategies, and building and managing strategic client relationships
- Executive management skills to grow and expand the business (moving from the minor to the major league)
- Improved customer relationship management skills
- Developing and retaining key high-demand human resources.
- Making strategic objectives a reality – “projectizing” the strategic plan and linking it to the performance management system.
Business Advisory Fora
We continuously liaise with clients to determine their support service needs. Where common needs are identified, the BDC organises special "business advisory fora" to disseminate information that address those needs.
