The Leisure Marine industry in Trinidad and Tobago is characterised by a concentration of activity and investment in the Chaguaramas area of Trinidad. Development over the years has centered around the boat yards, marinas and chandlers that provide storage facilities, boat repair services and replacement parts for visiting and domestic yachts.

Trinidad is located geographically outside the Critical Hurricane Zone. The hurricane insurance line for yachts is 12 degrees north of Trinidad, therefore it provides safe anchorage and lower marine insurance rates.
